Bro. G Steven, the founder of this ministry, was born into a Christian family where faith and devotion to the Lord were at the center of his upbringing. His parents, both dedicated teachers, nurtured his spiritual growth. In 1981,
Bro. Steven experienced the saving grace of the Lord Jesus Christ and committed his life to Him. In 1982, he declared his faith by testifying through the waters of baptism at the Church of Hebron, Hyderabad.
In 1995, Bro. Steven moved to Chennai, where he began a new chapter in his life. That same year, he was married, marking the start of a blessed family life. Professionally, he joined the Jesus Calls International Office, where he served as a prayer warrior for five years.
In 2003, Bro. Steven heard God’s call to step into full-time ministry. Trusting in the Lord’s plan, he resigned from his job and committed himself completely to Gospel work.
During a burial service, the Lord spoke to Bro. Steven through the Word Of God, Rev 14:13.
"Blessed are the dead which die in the Lord ... and their works do follow them."
This verse inspired him to pray earnestly for 7 years, seeking clarity on how he could serve the Lord by doing good works that follow even after his death. In 2010, after 7 years of prayer, the Lord gave him a clear vision for ministry through of Word Of God.
Luke 14:13: "When thou makest a feast, call the poor, the maimed, the lame, the blind".
He felt a strong burden to serve the blind community. Shortly thereafter, he met a blind believer who shared with him the struggles of blind individuals and offered practical advice on how to approach and connect with them. With encouragement from his wife and church elders, he stepped forward in faith and began ministering to the blind in Chennai.
Chennai is home to approximately 30,000 blind individuals, many of whom earn a living by selling goods on local trains. Bro. Steven started by traveling on these trains, meeting blind individuals, sharing the Gospel, and offering financial assistance. By God’s grace, this small beginning grew into a regular gathering.
Since 2010, every 3rd Wednesday of the month, Bro. Steven and his team have organized a meeting for blind individuals. These gatherings, held from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at a local church building, include the preaching of God’s Word, worship through singing, and prayers for their salvation. Alongside spiritual nourishment, the ministry provides food and occasional financial support.
